Ranks & divisions
Two ladders and a set of bands. All three ship empty, and a good deal of the bot does nothing useful until they are filled in.
There is no default ladder and there will not be one. An invented ladder is a hardcoded ladder wearing a config hat.
#The player ladder
A rank is a row on the dashboard, under Hosting, then Divisions and ranks: a key, a label, and an order. Optionally sub-ranks, so "R8 Low, R8 Mid, R8 High" is one rank rather than three. The pair reads as one thing everywhere.
Until this exists:
- Divisions are a range of ranks, so they cannot name one.
- Signup gates refuse people outside a range, so nothing is ever refused.
- Cards and rosters show a rank next to a name, and show nothing.
/setrank sets a member's. Every change is logged with who did it and why.
#Divisions
A name and a range of ranks. "Lower is R1 to R6, Upper is R7 and above."
A division can gate signups. If it does, somebody outside the range who presses Join is refused with a line saying why.
#The clan ladder
Separate on purpose - a strong player in a weak clan is ordinary. /clan rank sets a
clan's. See Clans.
#Discord roles
Ranks can mirror onto Discord roles, under Roles as a role connection. The bot has to sit above any role it hands out.
